We stayed at the Sheraton Mar del Plata, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations for a hotel of this category. The rooms are outdated and clearly in need of renovation. The mattresses were hard and uncomfortable, and there was no way to make the air conditioning work—only the heating was functioning, which was frustrating given the weather.
The Wi-Fi was unreliable and slow, which made it difficult to stay connected. Additionally, there weren’t enough power outlets in the room, which was very inconvenient for a family traveling with multiple devices.
We sat at the hotel bar for quite some time and were never attended to. On top of that, they attempted to charge us the 21% VAT even though I clearly proved my status as a foreign tourist not residing in Argentina and paid with a credit card issued abroad, which should have exempted us from that charge according to current law. Despite showing the required documentation, no solution was offered.
Overall, a disappointing experience—especially from a hotel that carries the Sheraton name.
