This is a lovely property that is extremely convenient to the entrance to the walled historic centre of Lucca. The staff was great and our two bedroom suite was perfect!

I love this hotel so much it was my second visit. I describe it as wholesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is superb for train station (2mins), city wallls (5 mins) and parkrun start line (5 min walk) Lucca is special and well worth a visit. I will certainly be back next next to stay and this lovely little hotel but please don’t forget the 3 mins plug adapter for Italy and not a standard EU plug.

I was a little worried as it was close to the railway station but location was excellent and good vibes all round. A lovely and quirky hotel in an excellent location, just a few hundred yards/metres and you are through the city walls. City and the Mura di Lucca are spectacular! Would recommend and will gladly stay again as plan to be back again in the next year.

It was cute and clean, but outdated! Very small room and didn’t like that the bed is up a narrow set of stairs! But staff were friendly and it was clean! Breakfast was good! Very convenient location next to the train station and the wall of the old town of Lucca!

We booked hotel Rex last minute so we could just wake up and hop on the train in Lucca. It had everything we needed but no extras. I would only spend one night here. Breakfast was extremely basic and needed to get better coffee at the cafe across the street. But over all room was clean and quiet.

The rooms and amenities were excellent, the breakfast provided daily had a good selection to start your day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The extra amenities in the room were a bonus (kettle for coffee and tea, in the hallway there was extra coffee, tea and cookies if you wanted a snack) The location right beside the train station and across the road from Lucca City Center make this hotel ideal, we would highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again
