"JVI came as advertised, a cozy rustic New England Inn. Good restaurant and bar w/ live music on a Thursday night, 4 miles from Jay’s base areas. Having the well stocked Counrty Store across the street is a bonus! Hot tub and sauna are nice extras for a very reasonable price! We will be back."

The kitchen was well equipped and the location is perfectly situated near Newport and only 30 minute from Jay Peak. Everything was spotless and comfortable and the lake views were amazing. "Rooms are clean and rustic, common areas are great for larger groups to socialize. Shared bathrooms were clean and we had the wing to ourselves so our party had more than enough amenities. Fridge, microwave, sink, coffee supplies in shared kitchen. Recommend bringing in bottled water. Attached Bistro was wonderful - great food / bar / staff. A really great rural VT experience! "

"Clean, welcoming, and with the scent of new cedar- this place was amazing. Tucked just off Rt. 100 about halfway between Stowe and Jay Peak, with a great general store close by and yet quiet and rural. It’s a steal at the price. The shower was awesome, the bed very comfortable, and the host very accommodating. She got the place ready for me on short notice! I will definitely be back! "

"We had a wonderful experience staying at the Black Lantern Inn. The Inn is location on the main street, and very easy to find. We didn't get to the property until 1:00 AM, and the property were decorated with Christmas lighting, which made it cozy and super easier find the place, especially when it was so dark out. There's a small parking lot between the two buildings, and our room was in the Burdette House. The buildings are vintage, but the room has all the towels and basic shampoos, and shower gel.
