The property itself was certainly quirky. Lots of colourful ‘stuff’ around in the public areas. Just look online as photos people have posted. A little too busy in terms of clutter for me personally. I would have preferred a more relaxing space to unwind in.
The ‘deluxe’ room we had was fairly basic but clean, with a great spacious shower. My one main gripe, and I really don’t get this, is that they provide a small space for hanging clothes with a few hangars but absolute nowhere else to put other folded clothes or underwear for example. There was not one drawer or shelf in the room, although plenty of space for such things. We therefore literally lived out of our case the entire time we were there. For a hotel that wasn’t exactly the cheapest, I would expect such basics/comforts.
Location wise, the hotel sits between a busy road and the DLR so is pretty noisy. However, it is a convenient 5 minute walk to Limehouse DLR station which is two stops away from Bank station and the underground network. It’s also a 5 minute walk away from Limehouse basin and onwards to some decent pubs and restaurants. A 10 minute walk away is Canary Wharf and the dock lands where there is an abundance of places to eat and drink.
Overall, it’s an OK place to stay, although I personally would not choose to go back myself. Better value for money elsewhere.
