Castle hill
Lower House, Lepton The house and garden is situated in a pastoral setting, viewed from the footpath approaching from the south. The hedgerow leaves from last autumn have not blown far.
Botany Lane, Lepton This is near the junction with Knotty Lane, and this area seems to have been the main hamlet of Lepton, as it is called Great Lepton on the 1850 map, and had the most houses. Other hamlets include Lidgate, Little Lepton, Rowley and Bogden (by the Sun Inn).
St John's Church Lepton
St John the Evangelist's Church, Green Balk Lane, Lepton Pevsner missed this one, but from the Wakefield Anglican website it was consecrated in November 1868. The extension blends with the old church whilst being unmistakably 20C in style.
