"Exceptional stay, friendly staff, and the perfect Basque Country base!This was my first time visiting the Basque Country, and it did not disappoint. I traveled here for the EPRC finals and to catch up with a friend I hadn’t seen in nearly twenty years.I chose Durango as my base because it is an easy 40-minute train ride into Bilbao. The hotel itself is ideally located—just a 10-minute walk from the station and close to local shops, restaurants, and beautiful historic buildings. Having stayed at Silken hotels before, I had high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed. It is a beautiful property featuring a nice restaurant, an onsite spa, and a lovely garden area for outdoor dining.The hotel staff were super friendly and welcoming, even using my name after just a few days. The breakfast was good, and my room was large, spotlessly clean, and featured great air conditioning with multiple aspects. The bed was comfortable, so I slept very well. The bathroom also had a nice, powerful shower and decent-sized towels.I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. While I suspect I was very lucky with the great weather during my trip, the hotel's excellent amenities make it a fantastic choice rain or shine."

"Nice hotel for a one night stop. Spacious room, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Tasty complementary breakfast, limited but nice, There’s a restaurant directly across the road which is convenient if you want a few drinks or dinner as there’s not much else around."

"Unfortunately room 618 is quite small. The refrigerator did not work. No air conditioner was available even though the temperature was warm. Hotel staff informed that winter rules applied for April. We had to open the windows and the street noise, including the train noise could be heard. We are regular customers of NH Hotels and this experience was extremely dissapointing. "
