Excellent place to stay for a weekend break. The building was beautiful and the restaurant food was excellent. Only think I would change is the use of the facilities on the Sunday…wish they could be used longer and not just until check out time at 11 am.

Lovely ,friendly staff. Great room with comfy bed and extras. Pool and Spa great. Beautiful hotel, some fixtures are a bit worn but overall decor good. Breakfast was fine, no scrambled eggs though. Was a bit enderwhelmed by the restaurant food but staff were great.

Restaurant superb as were the staff. Bed and pillows are super comfy, slept like a log. Parked in the overflow car park where I charged the car overnight and I thought the charges were pretty reasonable compared to public chargers.

Great overnight well located stopover. Whilst the hotel decor is a little tired, staff were lovely, food was perfectly adequate and the bed comfortable. Best feature was an extensive array of reasonably priced EV charging points. So, overall a very good stopover.

The room and bathroom were reallllyyy dated but it’s an old place so fair enough. In terms of cleanliness it was okay apart from the giant spider in the bathtub but that can happen anywhere I guess it was quite a green area. The shower gel had run out so had to get that sorted. In terms of staff. the cleaning staff were lovely, and the breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the lady on reception wasn’t very helpful and didn’t even explain what time breakfast was served or where to go. The spa staff were also quite unapproachable and dismissive. Although they had no appointments available, they didn’t make any effort to ask how long we were staying or see if they could fit us in at another time. Overall, while some of the staff were lovely, the hotel lacked a welcoming atmosphere, which was a shame. Not one I would be returning to unfortunately.

The staff at Oulton Hall were all incredibly helpful from reservations, reception, bar, restaurant and concierge. It was one of the hottest days of the year and it was no trouble for the staff to provide a fan. Our dog received a very warm welcome and a cosy bed to sleep in.

Loved our 1 night. The spa was relaxing. The room was spacious abs the bed was so comfy. Breakfast was nice and the atmosphere if the hotel was great. Dinner was great food too and great choice.

We got an update and room was fab. Lovely decor and bathroom and shower excellent. Loved the wee touches like espresso machine and towel robes. Hotel staff amazing, especially the waiters in the restaurant. Gorgeous lounge, bar and library with lots of comfy seating and beautiful views over the grounds. Pool and sauna etc really great. Breakfast good. Meal in restaurant good. Cocktails good. Some negatives The temperature in the room was so high. Even with AC on all night and windows open as much as we could it was sweltering. Don’t think the AC was working. Beds were so hard and pillows not comfortable. Also duvets were synthetic and way too high a tog. So with this combination I didn’t get a good nights sleep. So, unfortunately this did take the shine off the weekend. Be wary of rooms around the 130 number - there was an unpleasant smell in the corridor, which a member of staff said was coming up from kitchen below, but it smelt like blocked drains.
