Lancaster city centre is within walking distance, as is Williamson Park with breathtaking views, a café, an ornamental lake, and a butterfly house or meander through the mature trees and play areas. There are light shows and a theatre in the park in August plus live bands in September. There is plenty of walking straight from your doorstep, with a circular trip along the River Lune. The River Lune Millennium Park stretches 15km along the banks of the river, from Bull Beck near Caton to Salt Ayre in Lancaster. It also has linked footpaths, cycleways, and the route is decorated with unusual and thought-provoking artworks and information points.
Lancaster is a historic city with a castle, a river and many Georgian buildings. Located within 5 miles of the popular seaside town of Morecambe, which is soon to be home to Eden Project North. Here you can enjoy one of the finest views from its promenade of any seaside town in England, a magnificent sweep of coastline and bay, looking across to the Lakeland mountains. Here you can watch wonderful waders and admire marine-inspired artwork.
