I recently had the pleasure of staying at Premier Hotel Rus in Kyiv, and it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful — always ready with a smile and great local recommendations. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with a lovely view of the city. The location couldn’t be better. It’s just a short walk from some of Kyiv’s most iconic sights, including St. Sophia’s Cathedral and Maidan Nezalezhnosti. There are also plenty of great cafes, shops, and restaurants nearby, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. I’ll definitely be back.

A really great hotel - don't hesitate!

Hi fellow travellers, just to let you know that Hotel Rus, a 3* hotel, felt like a 4* and it was a welcome relief to come back to after a hard day's photography! I started my day with a fantastic shower that was like a HydroTherapy session - it was so hard, it felt rather like an Indian Head Massage - that got me off to a good start! I followed that with a hearty breakfast from their buffet selection, all of which were really well cooked and delicious with some great salads too. Of course, there's cereals too, with milk, Kefir or plain/strawberry yoghurt. Pancakes, with fine honey or jams; toast, croissants, sweet pastry delight of lemon or chocolate and of course, hot coffee or tea - what a choice and what a delight to start the day that way. I then went out for a day of taking many pictures of street art and graffitti, which are my passion, returning quite late in the evening after walking 24,967 steps, which definately required a nice soak in a hot bath - all soaps and towels etc., provided of course, with grooming routine finished with an efficient hair dryer - very necessary with short hair that looks like a hedgehog if not tamed into place with hot air! WiFi is vital and the signal is strong and constant with no lag time during searches. The bed was comfortable - slept like a log. The staff are all amazing and welcoming, so if you need to come to the vibrant city of Kyiv, which I'd encourage for a holiday, then I'd recommend Hotel Rus and look forward to my return soon.
Great breakfast selection and can definitely recommend my favourite - the fish and the vegetable selection!
A picture of the chef, but forgot to write his name down - but compliments to him in any case!
If you've got a sweet tooth, you can't go wrong!
Mine was just their basic standard room but it had all you need for a comfortable nights sleep - and I did!

A good hotel with its own bomb shelter

It is a good hotel with a nice location that has transformed its gym into a decent bomb shelter. Nothing spectacular, nothing particularly awful, good value for the money.

Overall the hotel is great and we were happy with our stay. Our only issue was the bed wasn’t a King bed as advertised in our Suite. Nothing changed even after informing the reception. That was the disappointment as we have our 1.5 year daughter with us and was smaller bed compared to what a King bed would have been.

Well the property was so old that, they have the old electric plug in point.so I cudnt charge my iPhone, Ipad..so When I asked at the front desk they told me that they are going to charge my phone in the reception:/front desk area only..so each night I used to drop off my phone at the reception /front desk and pick it up in the morning time..then i cudnt charge my electric shaver as they didn’t have an adapter for that.. other than that the hotel is at the central location.. you can walk to the malls and restaurants…
