"I wanted to love this place but was sadly disappointed. I appreciate the effort, some really cool furniture, the woods were beautiful. But the door didnt lock, i didn’t feel very secure sleeping there with kids. The composting toilet was not exactly what i was expecting…it WAS a composting toilet but essentially it was going into a garbage bag. The wood stove worked nicely but the wood burned very quick and went out as you sleep so unless you add it all night you wake up cold. The bed had a kids...

"Clean, quiet, and very private retreat in nice neighborhood, just a short distance from downtown Arcata, shops and restaurants. It was perfect as a base to explore the area from Eureka to Trinidad, with lots of opportunities to hike in the redwoods, birdwatch at the famous Arcata Marsh, and stroll/tidepool at the many beaches."

"Lovely place and just the right size for two people. Private and quiet. Super comfortable bed. Good location for walking to a few key places nearby. As seniors, it was a bit tricky to follow the rule to take shoes off outside and leave them outside (as opposed to taking them off on the mat immediately after entering), as it was difficult to then lift our bags in/out the door without getting damp/cold socks; but we managed! Would definitely stay here again."

"I booked the rental on less than 24 hours notice. The owner was terrific. She communicated clearly beforehand, had great information about the area waiting in the space, and leaving was very easy too. She even reached out to see if I needed to extend by a day. This is located midway between Eureka and Arcata and was very convenient. The kitchen had everything I needed and everything was clean and comfortable. I hope to return sometime. "
