"The hotel is in need of refurbishment to say the least the bar area was disgusting seats broken only bottles as pumps not working and dirty glasses infact the hotel should be condemned. The only saving grace was the staff and the breakfast the staff were polite,friendly and helpful especially Annie who made breakfast service a pleasure. Disappointing that hotels.com have this on there web site as im sure if they sent an inspector they would not recommend this hotel I for one will not be...

"It was clean I will put this hostal at the high end. Super secure, clean. People are very helpful. They open the PEND, which is great. You can work. They fridges were you can save your food. There is also a microwave, water heater, dishes, utensiles. I didnt participate but they have different activities. Location is a plus They also have a restaurant with good prices. I stayed in a 10 pod The mattress was super comfy. Two connector for usb. They offer a fan if u are to hot. The bathroom are clean I will recommend it. They also have single rooms if you dont want to be with other people A place to go"

"The hotel has an excellent location, just minutes from Waverley Station, which was very convenient as we arrived via train. At the end of our stay, we walked 5 minutes to the Airlink 100 bus stop on Waverley Bridge, so it was close to airport transportation as well. We were minutes from the Royal Mile and close to New Town too. The hot breakfast offerings were great and the breakfast buffet was well stocked with a good variety of fruit, cereal, yogurt, baked goods, meats and cheeses. I especially enjoyed the included champagne at breakfast. We also enjoyed the in-room snacks with Scottish brands, which were also included. The Artist Vista room was small but adequate and had creative space solutions, such as the sliding wood panel that functioned as a curtain. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again!"

Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh

6/10 Okay

"Room was great. Breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel. Location was spot on for the train but also for the royal mile. The only downside was check in. The staff were not very friendly and it was awkward to find our room. We were told to go down this way to find floor 4. There was a lift but it only went to rooms up to 432. Luckily a bar staff member told us we had to walk another 30 seconds around into the new building works area to find a second lift. There was no signs or anything to say this so i feel the reception staff should be telling people this. Overall a really good stay and would stay again. "
