"We had wonderful stay in The Island Bear B&B. The room was indulging and clean. Nice modern shower and freestanding tub. The breakfast was delicious. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived late night on the last ferry. She went above and beyond to make sure we can have a breakfast before we leave on the first ferry at 7 am. I wish we could stay more."

"What an outstandingly beautiful grand old manor house and grounds. The description of the hotel doesn’t do it justice. There are renos coming to the exterior but overall the room was clean and stocked with everything any guest could need. We stayed in the Margadale which was grandly spacious with a beautiful view of the front lawn and the sea. Deep tub was amazing for a soak. No restaurant on site for dinner but we made use of the bar in the evening. Cozy atmosphere, perfect for intimate conversations or a get to know you with other guests from abroad. The reception staff was so gracious and lovely. Unfortunately we had an early ferry booked and couldn’t take in the breakfast. Other guests assured us it was fantastic. Highly recommended for any trip to Islay. We will be back!"

"Jan and Darren were excellent hosts - they were very welcoming and took time to talk to their guests; they were interested and interesting. This helped to create a relaxed atmosphere between the guests as well. The room was clean, cosy and comfortable and everything we needed was on hand. Breakfasts were really lovely and a real departure from the normal fare offered. All in all a really lovely stay - many thanks."
