We recently stayed at this hotel in Key West and booked their most expensive option, the so-called “Tropical Suite.” Unfortunately, our experience was far from what was advertised online, and I feel compelled to share some honest feedback to help others make an informed decision.
The Disappointments:
-Misleading Marketing: The photos online showed a bright room with a verandah overlooking the street. What we got instead was a dark room with a dingy back patio with dirty chairs and no ambiance. Not a place you’d want to relax in.
Poor Room Condition:
-Upon arrival, the room was infested with mosquitoes, making it uncomfortable from the start.
-The air conditioning unit was extremely loud, making restful sleep nearly impossible.
-The bed was uncomfortable and sheets were stained (see attached photo), and the sofa was also visibly stained, giving the impression the room hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained.
-The bathroom was dark and felt unhygienic, and to make matters worse, the sink was clogged, but my husband was able to resolve it.
-There are no blackout curtains; the lights from outside keep the room bright at night.
The Few Positives:
-Great Location: The hotel is centrally located, just a short walk to Duval Street and several restaurants.
-Charming Outdoor Grounds: The pool area and gardens are well-maintained and pleasant, and we enjoyed having our morning coffee by the poolside.
-The staff was friendly.
