trevligt slott med bra frukost

Vi hade valt ett standardrum när vi beställde men det var oerhört trist så vi uppgraderade till en svit. Frukost var riktigt bra, däremot var 6-rättersmenyn med tillhörande vinpaket oprisvärt

Quiet and wonderful hotel a bit away from the city

The castle-monastery complex was very magnificent and old, yet well kept. The rooms were spacious and the price was reasonable. The breakfast was excellent, "must get" in addition to the room! The bed was a bit hard and there was a gap between the bed mattresses and couldn't get rid of it. The help were nice and overall atmosphere was excellent. The restaurant tasting menu was excellent, be sure to reserve it beforehand, you cannot just walk in. Also remember to mention if you want to dine tasting menu or regular food off the menu - we almost couldn't get tasting menu at all as receptionist didn't ask about this and this fact doesn't seem to read anywhere. Our plan was to get 4 course menu but we had to settle for 4 course tasting menu as we didn't tell about getting it beforehand. I don't know how you are supposed to know this, maybe the receptionist forgot to ask about it or assumed we did not want fine dining off the menu due to semi young age. We did get -10% off the 4 course tasking menu which I guess was ok effort to compensate for the loss of +2 dish fine dining. And the 4 dishes were solid sized and did not leave us hungry. In general 4/5, one star fell off due to restaurant miscommunication.

Viehättävä luostarimiljöö, hieman syrjässä

Viehättävä hotelli kauniilla paikalla, syrjässä keskustasta. Kävelimme keskustaan n. 9km ja en voi suositella, matkalla ei ollut nähtävää, eikä helppo kulkea. Bolt-kyyti maksaa n 7€. Huone ei kovin viihtyisä, meillä oli juniorsviitti, se oli aika tukala helteellä ja pysäköintialueella aikaa viettävä nuoriso hieman piti meteliä. Hotellin ravintola on todella tasokas, söimme 6 ruokalajin päivällisen viineineen ja voin todella suositella, erinomainen hinta/laatu. Aamiainen on mahtava, listalta voi tilata alku-, pää- ja jälkiruuan. Suosittelen kuitenkin hotellia lämpimästi, jos hieman syrjäinen sijainti ei haittaa. Jos hotellilla sattuu olemaan ohjelmaa, kannattaa jäädä kuuntelemaan. Me saimme nauttia hienosta konsertista.

Blandet oplevelse

Umiddelbart dejligt sted - men en del småting som tilsammen gjorde oplevelsen lidt blandet. Morgenmaden var super!! Rummene var utrolig varme, på trods af opsatte mobile airconditions. Brusekabinen var utæt og vandet løb i større mængder ud under toilettet. Restaurant og mulighed for mad/drikke i løbet af dagen/aften var kun udendørs.

Character hotel outside of Kaunas

Great hotel with loads of character based in old monastery. Pleasant staff and Excellent breakfast with fresh local ingredients. 24 hour check in. The only challenge was that even the thick walls could not fully block out the nearby disco running to 5am.

Location and ambiance are great. Rooms upstairs are poor in terms of beds and furniture; stairs are tragic for walking with suitcases. Prices are fine from the perspective of the architecture of the entire complex but not from the perspective of the hotel rooms.

The place is a gem - - hidden but a treasure to behold. For those wanting some peace or ‘off grid’ (kind of), this is the place to be. It is close to a river and I was told they have a library that can be accessed by the visitors. For a nominal fee, one can learn a bit of history of the monastery. Their restaurant prepares excellent meal. Their 9 course is a must try. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. If you need a transfer or ride to or from the monastery, the staff can arrange it. If given another chance, I will stay again at Monte Pacis. I love the feel of being in a historic place such as this. I definitely recommend this place to everyone even if you are only to stay one night. Their local tour guide was very knowledgeable. Overall I had fun being in this place.
