It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Very comfortable bed and pillows - the staff were very friendly and competent. However the rooms did appear a bit “tired” and our room (and the gym) had a particular musty/damp smell that was quite overpowering. Not convinced it was good value for money.

My family and I stayed at Radisson during November 2025 in lake view suites and deluxe and triple rooms as we were a large group. We were received with a warm welcome from the first day and were taken care of well by the entire staff. The Radisson Kandy is clean and well organized with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The hotel is also close to all of the local main attractions and the city center. We highly recommend staying at the Radisson Kandy for any traveller.

The staff of the hotel are nice and the location is good we also liked the small gym and the pool area. What was not very good was room cleanliness and repair - water kettle broken, stainless steel hand rail black spotted, AV ducts moldy , Shower groutings moldy etc etc. TV had to be serviced, the I room writing desk was stained.
