No, you're not seeing things wrong - this whole place is indeed bright blue!

It's a tiny village in the south of Spain. It used to be one of the traditional 'pueblos blancos ' - the white villages.

So why is it blue?

A clever marketing person for the Smurfs movie thought up the new color scheme to promote the flick. A few years later, Júzcar has still kept the place bright blue, and there are references to the Smurfs everywhere.

It's just as weird in person as it looks on screen, and although there's not too much to see here, if you're a fan of quirky destinations, it's a fun little stop. (#colorful)
