"I recently stayed at this hotel and while the property itself is very clean and well kept, my experience with the front desk left a lot to be desired. When I asked for a copy of the document I signed at check‑in, the receptionist told me to come back later because another guest had arrived and he wanted to serve them first. At checkout, he then claimed I couldn’t receive a copy because I booked online — something I’ve never had an issue with at other hotels. It felt dismissive and dishonest, and I did not appreciate being brushed off simply so he could move on to another guest.
Breakfast was also disappointing. The only hot item available was eggs — no potatoes, bacon, or sausage, which are standard offerings at most hotels. Overall, the cleanliness was great, but the customer service and breakfast options need improvement."
Comfort Inn & Suites Thousand Islands Harbour District
10/10 Excellent
"Our family stayed at Comfort Inn for 3 nights, and it truly became one of the highlights of our vacation in Gananoque.
When we opened the door to our room, my daughters were so excited because it was located right beside the swimming pool! After spending each day exploring the area, they couldn't wait to jump into the pool every evening for an hour. Those moments became some of our favorite family memories.
The location is outstanding. Everything we wanted to see was within easy reach—the Thousand Islands cruise, waterfront park, beach, and several restaurants were only about a 5-minute walk away. It was also just a short drive to No Frills, Metro, Canadian Tire, Dollarama, and other stores, making our stay even more convenient.
Check-in and check-out were fast, smooth, and stress-free. Our room was spotless, and the entire hotel, including the common areas, was clean and very well maintained.
The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations. There was a great selection of delicious food, and the staff did an amazing job keeping everything fresh and fully stocked by continuously refilling the serving stations. My daughters especially loved making their own pancakes with the automatic pancake machine—it was such a fun experience for them!
We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Gananoque. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, family-friendl"
"The reason we love this property is the setting in a historic building in an historic neighbourhood. Lots of charm and character. Outdoor seating in the waterfront rooms makes for an enjoyable stay. A quick walk to the City Cruises. Was happy to see they had refreshed the waterfront rooms. I would like to see them continue replacing the old muskoka chairs and tables as some are in need of repair. We will be back."
"We booked this property for a relaxing break towards the end of our road trip. It was a great location for this. We did not receive the warmest of welcomes on arrival. But we did enjoy our stay. Breakfast was ok although we didn't feel it should be an additional charge. Especially as the rooms were quite expensive and also all had different charges! But the location was the winner for us. Just a short drive to Gonoque was a little gem of a town. Lots of choices for eating and a wander around is a must do. Cruise the 1000 islands too it must be seen. The B&B has a lovely terrace to sit on and you can take a stroll along the river. We would return here. Altogether an enjoyable stay but a car is necessary to get in to town as there's nothing within walking distance."
