It is a very old hotel they have done a good job in updating and maintaining it. The rooms are very spacious, clean, comfortable and with a/c
All the outdoor space is beautiful and very inviting. The restaurant is also very well kept and original to its style.
Staff is always ready to help you.
We had an incredible, amazing experience staying at the hotel. The palace transported you into a long ago era and let you experience what it feels like to live as a Maharaja or one of his royal dignitaries. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our every needs. The food was unforgettable. We still talk about our meal experiences at the palace. A definite bucket list type of experience.
We had mice in the room , the curtains did not cover the windows , the room was a total rip off at € 850 per night , it was equivalent t to staying at Fawlty Towers, the stay was a disaster and the management was horrible. Not even the beds were properly made , and the bedsheets were tatty. PLEASE NEVER STAY THERE - the worst experience in 40+ years travelling !! This was a maximum 2-3 star hotel , if that !
A Disappointing and Misleading "Luxury" Experience
Our stay at the Raj Palace was the most disappointing, so much so that we cut our stay short and moved to a different hotel. While the facility itself was clean and the staff friendly, it fell dramatically short of its 5-star billing.
This hotel markets itself as a 5-star experience in a 200-year-old palace, but the reality is far from the truth. It’s been poorly maintained and lacks basic 5-star amenities. We encountered issues with inadequate heating, relying on noisy portable heaters instead of proper climate control. The towels, bed sheets all have yellowing vs clean whites and uncomfortable mattress. No HVAC, cold marble floors with no rugs.
The hotel's day trip service is another area of concern. The assigned drivers charge exorbitant rates (Rs. 5000 for half day, Rs. 9000 for full day) and take guests to places where they clearly have connections, pushing tourists towards overpriced activities and products. We felt misled and exploited by this service. Exploring Jaipur independently with an outside taxi proved to be cost-effective.
The hotel boasts numerous awards and accolades, but these seem to be from a bygone era. The decor, wallpaper, and facilities appear outdated and haven't been properly maintained. It's evident that the hotel is clinging to past glories while failing to meet 5 star rating. While the complimentary breakfast was decent, not in 5-star worthy, the cocktails were terrible.

We paid for a garden view room and were provided an inferior room with no view to the outside. there was no hot water on the first day. Internet did not work most of the time.
