The personnel was very nice and corteous. The hotel was basic, but decent. The location is excellent.
However, I found traces of bed bugs in my room (the black spots around the mattress rims plus some small debris that are usually shells they leave when they grow); I notified the hotel and asked for room change. The owner/manager and assistant did a room change without a problem, but they totally dismissed my concerns after a quick inspection on the room where they did not find the live animals. They are probably unaware that live animals hide on daylight and are hard to find, and the small remains (shells) and bed bug pooh should be enough to establish there are some bed bugs around. So there was a climate of denial; maybe their concern was if I were to ask for a refund, so tried to deny. But I am concerned it was a legitimate denial, which means they will not spray the room or follow up on inspections, until the infestation is so noticeable that one can find loads of live animals roaming in daylight, in a month or two. If the had shown some signs of concern and intention to follow up with professional inspection, I would be less concerned, since this is a known problem afflicting many hotels, but they dismissed me.
