"The Fournil gite is a lovely getaway in the Northern part of France. It's location works as a great base to feel you are out in the peace and tranquillity, but still with easy access by car to some key attractions - Paris (40 mins), Versailles (35 mins), Monet's Garden (25 mins), Rouen (45 mins). The gite itself has some lovely features, but a couple of points to be aware of. i/ A gorgeous terrace just off the main lounge, per pictures is ideal for enjoying a relaxing drink or even your early morning coffee & croissantsii/ lots of garden space, with covered dining area and loungers.. the pictures show the garden at it's best. Some of the furniture and the garden are not quite as polished as they look in the pictures anymoreii/ The same goes for the entrance courtyard which in the pictures looks quite polished but in reality has more of a rustic charm at presentiii/ There is no car parking directly at the property, but there are readily available spaces no more than 2-3 mins walk from the front gate and you can easily park to drop off luggage etc before moving thereiv/ The main bedroom is spacious and comfortable with a well fitted ensuitev/ The second bedroom is on the top floor which gets hot and stuffy. The property does have an aircon unit, but for the lounge only. Also the bed can only be accessed from one sidevi/ Finally be aware of the stairs, there are 4 levels and the stairs are steep, so consider if you are unstable on your feet. Overall enjoyed :) "

"This a wonderfully quiet location with an awesome bakery around the corner. Realize this location is about an hour away from Paris and you need a car or be ready for rides o. The mass transit with many changes. I also recommend dropping by a bistro in Les Mureaux named Le CELTIQUE. The owner loved meeting us and was an absolute joy. His kitchen was closed for the evening so he went down the street for us and ordered pizza and calzones for us without us prompting. A genuine wonderful person. Expedia doesn’t mention that laundry has an extra charge, so beware; though the owner, once contacted was very kind and took care of the matter. Also Expedia lists a private bathroom; but the bathroom are shared. They were very clean and a did not see a problem with the shared bathroom at all. Overall, it was clean, quiet and a great place to spend a few days!"

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We should have known something was off from the state of the building and car park. The cars all look abandoned and many have flat tyres. The hotel is like something from a horror film. Mostly unlit and feels abandoned and run down. As two females we immediately felt unsafe. This was expounded when the man on reception charged us more than the agreed price and we felt too intimidated to argue. We were shown to a room at the fair end of the hotel on a dingy corridor. The door looked like it had been jimmyed open with a crowbar at some point, the latch was loose and the door didn't lock from the inside. We asked to be moved rooms and were put in one nearer reception. We spoke to the receptionist and asked him to show us that the door couldn't be opened with the keycard when the door was locked from the inside. We put our bags on our beds and went to dinner. When we returned our bags had been moved and something had changed with the lock because you could open it from the outside with the keycard even if the door was locked from the inside so we didn't feel safe. We went to reception and said we didn't feel safe and didn't want to stay. The receptionist wouldn't refund us and phoned the manager who was abusive on the phone to us so we left. The following morning we returned to give the keycard back and get a refund. They refused because 'we'd booked online' even though we'd paid by card at the hotel. There is very wrong with this hotel. AVOID"
