Mcaras View has special views to the sea at the front and top of Goat Fell at back of Property.

The lodge is of high quality standard of decor within. Owners make sure of offering a pleasant and welcoming stay for all guests.
Walking distance to the village of Blackwaterfoot village approximately 20minutes downhill.
Village you will find Kinloch Hotel, Blackwaterfoot Lodge Hotel, Shiskine Golf House. All wonderful eating places for breakfast lunch and dinners.
Beach walks alongside the Shiskine Golf Course looking over to the Mull of Kintyre, can be a spectacular sight.

Lodge is equipped with all cooking facilities to enjoy chill days inside. Power showers in each of en suite bathroom and main bathroom. Oil central heating, easy to regulate by programmer.
Games and creative materials for children and young people to enjoy in their holiday time at Mcaras view.
All bedding is inclusive of the price of holiday. Cupboards are stock with tea coffee sugar and chocolates for guests to enjoy.

Washing Machine and Dishwasher within Lodge. Hairdryer and hair straightners are also supplied for guest to use if they wish.

Family stay for a long weekend before the schhols go back... absolutely loved it, the surroundings are beautiful ( Pheasant's, Red Squirrels etc) and the property itself was fantastic ... we loved every part of it.. hoping to stay again soon.

Short stay on arran

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was as advertised and had everything we needed for our break. The communication from the owner was good and he helped us quickly when required. The location is peaceful and we would recommend this lodge to others.

Wonderful Island and a great lodge with a view which was the perfect basis for our hiking as well as our destillery tours. I can highly recommend Kris' lodge!

Wonderful Lodge

We had a fabulous stay at the lodge. So peaceful and well appointed. The interior is so tasteful and comfortable, and has everything you need. We enjoyed watching a variety of wildlife whilst relaxing on the deck. Kris was a great host and we will be back!

A home away from home. Our second stay at this fantastic lodge within 3 months. Our first trip was as a family with 3 young children and the most recent trip with my father and sister. Everything you could need ever need inside and outside from children’s colouring and games to condiments to views of the sea and the most beautiful starry nights. A welcome bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival and Kris was a fantastic host. Thank you very much, hopefully we will be back again very soon

Peace & quiet

Lodge had everything we needed for perfect stay, great views. Managed to see the red squirrel & the Highland cows at the bottom of the drive. Kris was great, allowed us to check in earlier as we got an early boat. Everything spotless & tidy. Recommend to everyone if you need a place to stay

A home from home

The title describes everything. Very well appointed, warm and welcoming. The perfect quiet retreat to come back to after a day spent exploring. One of the features of Arran is its wildlife and the lodge has cheeky inquisitive red squirrels all around. A treat of a retreat!

Like all the reviews have said, the house was spotless and had everything we needed. We had 2 red squirrels passing in the morning, a pheasant, rabbits, and bird song. The lodge was exceptionally clean and so much care taken to provide everything we could possible need. We had a contest to see which of us could discover something we might have used - we came up with one item, but even so managed perfectly well without it! The extra items, like hand washes, hand creams, and room fresheners, were so welcome - as was the ‘welcome’ gift.

Schöne, einfache Unterkunft

Wir hatten für die Familie für 4 Tage ausreichend Platz, alles sauber. Mit dem Auto konnte man gut Ausflüge in die Umgebung machen. Sehr netter und unkomplizierter gastegeber.

What a wonderful place

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful place. The whole island is spectacular, Blackwaterfoot and Mcaras View are a perfect, quiet corner of the island. The lodge itself was perfect for the four of us as a base for a few days (which wasn't long enough, but we'll be back!)

Es ist wirklich alles vorhanden, was man brauchen kann, von Kleenex über Saftpresse zu Glätteisen. Sehr sauber und gemütlich. In ruhiger Lage, schöne Aussicht. Danke für Sweeties und die Flasche Wein! Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: die Bereitstellung von Handtüchern wäre toll. Aber darauf wurde vorher hingewiesen, sodass wir welche dabei hatten.

Ideal location and home away from home

Beautiful property with all the comforts of home. The setting was perfect and not far from Brodick and even closer to Blackwaterfoot. Clean cabin with ramp or steps. Large TV and all the kitchen supplies you would need. The only thing to know before you go, is this property does not provide bath Towels but that IS listed in the aminities online, i just failed to read it. Host was great and responded quickly to any questions we had! Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful lodge!

We come to Arran every year (2 adults, 2 children ages 8&6) and often stay in Lochranza but went for a change this year. We found this wonderful lodge in quiet surroundings which is a short walk from Blackwaterfoot where there is a nice beach. It's also close to Kings Caves for a short, flat-ish hike which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We used the lodge as a good base to go for bike rides as well as a bit further afield - Goat Fell, Brodick Castle and up towards Loch Tanna near Catacol. The lodge itself is superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need! Everything is spotlessly clean, and is one of those places that feels cosy and warm. We had Kris's number for any questions, and he left the key for us to easily get into the lodge. The welcome gifts were very well received - thank you!! It was a lovely cosy place to come back to in the chilly evenings and relax in the peaceful surroundings. Thank you to our hosts for providing such a warm and welcoming place to spend a few days of adventuring!

Solitude

Well furnished. Everything provided for self-catering, which I did due to Covid. I found the area very quiet which is what I wanted. Probably a lot busier in the Summer.

Lovely lodge

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Mcaras View. It was cosy clean and very comfortable. The location was quiet and private and a very nice 15 minute walk to Blackwaterfoot. The lodge had everything you would need for a holiday and we would highly recommend it. Will definitely be back.

Scotland in Miniature

Fantastic family break

Had a great time here with my wife and elderly mother. The accommodation was in perfect condition and we had a lovely surprise on arrival with a bottle of wine in the fridge and some chocolates. The location is perfect for our favourite hobbies - golf, walking and beach. Everything needed was provided and of good quality. Only suggestion would be to put the wall mounted TV on a swivel bracket as it's difficult to watch from the sofa due to window reflcting on the screen. Would love to come back again next year. Thankyou.
