This was a very nice ryokan, with polite and courteous staff. The location was very good, only a 10-minute walk from the train station, and one of the main Shinto shrines (Geku Jingo) in the area. The place was very quite and peaceful, and decorated with beautiful Japanese prints and fresh flowers.
Our reservation came with a multi-course traditional dinner (kaiseki) and Japanese-style breakfast. The food was very good and fresh, and the portions were generous. We also greatly enjoyed our onsen baths.
While a bit expensive compared to a modern hotel, it was worth the price for an unforgettable experience.
