Downtown Indianapolis Historic “Lockerbie” Square Home Description

This home has over 6,000+ sq. ft. and 3 stories of living area. Comfortably sleeps up to 22 people in beds. Most beds are king and queen sized beds. Throughout the home there are 10 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. There is plenty of room to set up air mattresses for additional sleeping spaces. Additional charges for parties with more than 14 guests.

There is a fully equipped and functional large kitchen. The kitchen includes all the necessary amenities and kitchenware to host and cook your meals.

6 Plasma TV’s with DVD players and cable with over 100 channels throughout the home. The great room hosts an in home theater with large plasma TV for your ultimate viewing pleasure.

There are multiple gathering areas throughout the home, which can easily seat your guests. There is a gas grill on the outside patio in the backyard along with a fire pit and seating for your party.

Nearby attractions include several local breweries and winery, the Indianapolis Zoo, the world renowned Indianapolis Children’s Museum, Indianapolis Museum of Art, sporting venues such as Lucas Oil Stadium (Colts football venue) and Banker’s Life Fieldhouse (Pacers basketball venue) along with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway which hosts the famous Indy 500. Dining, shopping, and entertainment for all ages is limitless in downtown Indy!

We would appreciate it if the house could be cleaned more thoroughly and fully stocked with essentials for the showers, Additionally, we had to fix the grill ourselves upon arrival to get some steaks grilled, so we’d kindly ask that it be checked and prepared in advance for future stays, overall the location was great and Property Manager answered all our questions

The size of the house, number of bedrooms, and space was great. Well stocked with towels, paper products as needed. The cleanliness of the place made up for some of the old furnishings-although this adds to the quaintness of the home. We were intrigued by the history of the home. Several activities (planned and spontaneous) were within walking distance. Parking was not a problem for our 6-7 vehicles including 1 very large van. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, paper products, etc. we may have utilized the kitchen more than some visitors. A few things we found were a pair of tongs and a pan were rusted and not usable. I was told the dishwasher detergent didn’t dissolve and didn’t seem to operate properly. The lighter for the firepit didn’t work but didn’t require an emergency call or spoil our fun. Also, the chandelier in the dining room flickered—perhaps a ghost? . But may be worth checking out. We had a wonderful time! Thank you.

(Art) Was Ready for It…

My husband and our friends (8 total) stayed at this so very spacious property for the Taylor Swift concert weekend and loved every bit. Art was quick with the communication and even let us check in a little early with part of our party arriving earlier in the day. We would definitely stay at this lovely historic home again.

Not what we were expecting, but hindsight is 20/20

We knew that staying in a 100+ year old house would have its quirks, but I wish I had known: the house is next to a highway & train tracks (train honks at night). At least one of the bedrooms and bathrooms are windowless (thus poor ventilation). One of the rooms has two bunkbeds and the washer/dryer and the water heater... it's a utility room. The bathrooms and shaggy carpets need a deep clean and/or updates. Towels were old and raggedy, some bleach stained. What felt most deceptive was a laminated card in the kitchen asking guests to leave a 5-star review in exchange for a $600 gift card. So in hindsight, I would have had more realistic expectations if I didn't rely on reviews, and if I thought more about the fact that the listing does not include photos of all rooms. I did not contact the host about my concerns, as I felt like no immediate change would impact our stay. What was good: Check-in/out process was easy. Location is walkable to some nice cafes and restaurants. Enjoyed the board game selection.

Very Accommodating host

The host was easy to get in touch with and went above and beyond for our special circumstances. The house is a historical home over 100 years old, is spacious and provides easy access to downtown. The house was basically clean and towels and sheets smelled clean. However, it could use a deep cleaning; the house smelled musty. There are some things that would make the house nicer: removing the carpet and replacing it with wood or laminate, making small repairs to door handles and locks, addressing the moldy smell in one of the top floor bathrooms, and updating some of the worn art. The bathroom on the middle floor curtains are see through at night. Adding a second refrigerator would better match the number of persons the house can accommodate.

Family Reunion

Great property and location. We had a big group for family reunion and everyone had plenty of room. Walked to local breweries and explored Mass Ave. Would highly recommend.

Indy Family Fun

Our 17 family members, ages 10 through 79, spent the week that included the 4th of July. We could watch several firworks displays from the corner by our home. The home is a very old historic 3 story house with plenty of bedrooms for all. It was called the Raggedy Anne home and there were alot of pictures, dolls and other memorabilia of the Raggedy Anne doll. The location was good in that it was close to a lot of restaurants, breweries and wineries. Some of the breweries were within walking distance. Several restaurants were also close enough to walk to. We all enjoyed ourselves. We found enough restaurants to accommodate all of us. We especially had fun at the Garage Food Hall, a large building with a collection of diverse eateries. We split up in four groups and played their Trivia game. One of our groups came 1st and another was 3rd. Lot of family fun. The only major issue was the area was under construction with several street closures and noise. This is only temporary so we will still consider returning. .

Great location

This house had a great location and was HUGE! Best part was it was very quiet! There were 10 of us here and when you went to bed tug couldn’t hear anyone who stayed up! The restaurant right next door was really good and very convenient!

Perfect group getaway

We had 14 guys on a golf trip and this house was perfect for all of us to stay in one place. It was clean, had plenty of room, and we loved hanging out in the backyard at night. I would recommend staying here for groups.

Family Christmas Gathering

We had a Christmas family reunion of 20 adults. The house was perfect for us in the sleeping space, kitchen space, and very large family room to watch football games and large dining room for game playing (and eating). Even though it was chilly, we spent time playing games in the outdoor space as well and sitting around the fire. The house was well equipped with seating, bedding, towels, kitchen equipment, games, and books. Loved it so much that we want to book again next year.

Heavy highway construction within 20 yards of house. Not disclosed on VRBO website. Steps from every room to another. Dangerous for us…six 74 year olds Air conditioning didn’t work on second floor on first night-85+ degree weather. Property manager quite responsive in getting air conditioning working for the final two nights.

Great Place

There was plenty of space for our group. The rooms were nice and clean. The kitchen and dining areas also had enough space for us to cook meals and eat comfortably. The location was also great! Very close to downtown. The house had maps and pamphlets giving us information about things to do and places to go. Super helpful!

Large place great for lots of people

The property was great for our group of Mom's at a volleyball tournament. Everyone had their own room. The mattress I was on was very old and saggy. If I were there with my husband would not have been comfortable. Some things could use to be updated, but overall
