My friend and I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Sugar Land, expecting a great experience, especially given Hampton's reputation for cleanliness. When we arrived, we were excited--we loved the location! It was close to a grocery store, great restaurants, and in a quiet area. The staff was friendly, and our room was clean when we first checked in.
However, after our first night, we were shocked to find that our room hadn't been cleaned at all. To make matters worse, there were ants all over the trash can. We reported it to the front desk, only to be told that housekeeping only cleans rooms every other day. They handed us fresh towels and told us to take out our own trash.
The next day, we came back late, exhausted, only to find that our room still hadn't been cleaned. At that point, it was almost midnight--too late to request service. Despite staying for three nights and four days, our room was never cleaned, even after requesting it. The presence of ants was a clear sign that the room was not being maintained properly.
I've never had an experience like this at a well-known hotel chain, and it was a major disappointment. Cleanliness should never be an issue at a hotel of this caliber.
