Lovely Maui location

Maui Sands is a perfect Maui location with lovely grounds and pool area, steps to the ocean and everything you need close by. Our communication with our host did not go very well, very poor response time, or just ignored all together The unit desperately needs some TLC but can not beat the location!

Handy location, adequate

Very clean upon arrival. The carpet in the master is pretty old and crusty, but I'm sure just worn out from many visitors. The condo was built in the 60s and has an older feel to it. Price is adequate and location to the big beaches nearby was handy. Nice browns and pool. No access to the ocean from, but a small viewing area.

6 Days at Maui Sands

We enjoyed our stay. The unit was clean and well equipped (kitchen, beach towels, flippers). Nice garden view from the balcony, nice balcony furniture, with very short walk to beach to watch the whales and sunset. 10 min walk to Dukes and some good places to eat within easy 5 minute walk. Only comment would be that the bathroom / bathtub could use an update.

Sweet spot in Maui

The hostess was helpful before we came. The rooms were clean. The location is nice, if you have a car. You are in a very expensive region of Maui at a very good price. However it is not a luxury property (which costs more and you get more). It is relaxing and simple. The internet is very good. The pool is nice. The sunsets are amazing. We are happy that the kitchen is not stripped of all of the little things, such as mustard, salt, pepper, etc., which happens at all of the big resorts. Thank you very much for making your home available to guests.

Great location and accommodations

It was in a fairly quiet complex a short walk or drive from food trucks and restaurants in fact the poke shop across the street was quite good! We visited 3 islands on our Hawaiian tour and would come back to this location!

Beautiful

This property was great, other than having downstairs neighbors that woke up at 4am and having them smoking on the patio. It was great. Shanna was very helpful.

Refrigerator was not cold at all

The condo needs a little updating. There were cracks on ceiling in the bathroom. The refrigerator did not keep my food/drinks cold. The freezer took a day to freeze water bottles. Other than that, availability of items such as beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, etc was sufficient.

A quite condo next to the water we like the area and the property was ok except for the bathroom. The shower curtains hasn’t been replaced maybe over 3 months moldy and bathroom itself is old. I would stay somewhere else for a few dollars more.

Cute little spot!

My husband, myself and our son stayed here for a few nights. Very cute little condo! We had a good time, only complain is the pull out couch/sofa could use a bit of an upgrade. It’s really rough and uncomfortable. But other than that, no complaints. We were happy with our stay!

Decent for the Price

The location is pretty good as the beach is close and has nice snorkeling. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. The kitchen was really well stocked with tools we needed. The complex was cute with lots of foliage. The unit itself could use some TLC like paint, trim, and carpet cleaning. We encountered one large cockroach. It probably needs a deep clean overall- looks like it has been a little bit since the last one.

Great West Maui Location Getaway!

This was our first time booking on VRBO and we were just so excited that this property was in a nicely centered location to what we wanted to see and do. It really was 100 steps to the beach which we took full advantage of. There were easy walkable places to grab a bite and good coffee. Overall location was primo, amenities were great and we had an amazing first trip to Hawaii while staying here!

Great space for 4. Took my 2 grandkids who enjoyed the space.

The property is clean and near sea beach

its a good place to stay in. sea beach is near. and grocery store and food truck just at stone throw distance. safe and quite neighbourhood overall.

Poor communication and check in process.

I messaged the property manager 5 days ago without a response so I will just leave my review now. My friend and I arrived at the check in time, 4 p.m. The condo was still being cleaned.. we had to wait outside until 4:20 for it to be done. When we entered it was clean and the kitchen is stocked with different kind of pots and pans and spices. The pullout couch did not have any sheets to put over the mattress cover so I had to put blankets over for a makeshift sheet. The bathroom area had two spaces for getting ready, but it could use some updating as the bathtub floor had the rubber slits to avoid slipping but they were coming off and lifting. The location is nice and close to lots of fun things. The parking space designated for the condo is on the opposite side of the complex so I would recommend dropping luggage off and then driving to the parking spot. The communication has been poor since I have not received a message back about having to wait past the check in time due to cleaning taking longer than planned. I was not reached out to for a heads up on this or else I wouldn’t have wasted my time waiting outside.

One week stay at Lahaina

We stayed at beautiful Maui, and Maui sands were our home for a week. Kids loved the pool on the property. All the beach stuff you can ask for was available at the property. The club house has a clean grill we used for making dinner. The property manager was kind and responsive to our needs. Thank you for having us.

Beach in the Backyard

My family of 4 stayed at Maui Sands in October. We loved that this a place that was walking distance to the ocean, included wifi, parking, and a/c (just in case). Every evening, we gathered at the wall and watched the sunset - I can't think of a better place than this spot to watch the sunset. The grounds of this spot are amazing with tropical trees, and even a banana tree! My kids swam in the ocean and enjoyed the pool every day! The kitchen is fully equipped - and a grocery store is a 5 minutes walk away. Tips: 1. Wear water shoes if you go swimming. There is coral that is razor-sharp. 2. Watch the sunset - its worth it. 3. Don't over plan your trip - just relax and enjoy Maui. Mahalo for a wonderful spot.
