"The current owners have only had the property a short while hence my poor comment on decor and maintenance. They are renovating the property however the staff were very polite and helpful. Our en-suite rooms although dated were clean. The beds and bedding were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, ample choice only negative comment I can say is ceramic mugs/cups would be nicer than the ones provided. We wish them every success."

"We stayed here for the weekend of26th June , what a gem of a place to find . Room was lovely , staff were very chatty and nothing was too much trouble , food excellent . Although not in the normal hot spot stays , this pub is in a quiet location but not far from anywhere . Highly recommend a stay here at this pub"

"Check in could be improved. Arrived to a busy pub with customers waiting for service at the bar and no designated check in desk. Several staff just walked past us with our bags and no one acknowledged we were trying to check in for several minutes. The room was okay but not as shown on our booking confirmation - it was an attic room with very steep stairs and a not very safe landing area outside the door. "A lovely quirky & very old hotel. We had a great stay & will come back again. Not really any negatives above what you would expect from an old historic building. Attention to detail could be improved in a few area's, but these are minor, picky things. Positives far outweigh the negatives. Great building,l & great location to town.
