Umberleigh Village in Taw Valley Umberleigh is a scattered village but it is also a postal district serving several other villages. This shot shows the geographical location between a steep wooded escarpment and alluvial land. The Taw is in spate on the left and the Tarka Line railway runs into the station centre right. It is served by the A377 which runs from Exeter to Barnstaple which is hidden in trees West of the river.

An absolutely incredible place to stay, with gorgeous river views and even a lake. We stayed in a barrel which was so comfortable, I really did not want to get out of bed! The owner and others on the farm are kind, warming and helpful, and are clearly working hard to build an amazing space. I just ...

Very friendly staff, hot tub wasn’t up to temp on our arrival but staff were very apologetic and we were not charged for it that evening. The Lodge was very clean, good quality bedding and toiletries.
