Perfect location to watch the ocean

The Beachfront Lodge is a very peaceful place to stay. Great location away from the town centre (7 minute drive away) with a stunning view of the ocean, and all the rooms are spacious and inviting.

Excellent location, would definitely go again!

Oh my goodness, this place is AMAZING! We booked the room with the ocean / beach view and a balcony and it was to die for. I wish we had stayed longer! Hermanus is a cute little town with lots of charm and the area is just gorgeous. I could have sat on the porch for days!

Beim ersten Frühstück: keine Wurst und Schinken, Brot tgl. nicht ausreichend außer am letzten Tag. Toaster: Vorkriegsmodell. Kein Obst am Buffet sondern es gibt ein kleines Schälchen pro Pers. Im Bad: kein Stromanschluss für Fön und E-Rasierer sowie keine Kosmetiktücher. Parkplatz auf öffentlicher Wiese. Die Lage soll offensichtlich diese Mißstände kompensieren!

Mooie locatie geweldig uitzicht!! Het huis is behoorlijk veroudert, de badkamers zijn gewoon versleten moeten echt vervangen worden, jammer je kunt echt merken dat er niet wordt geinvensteerd. Personeel super vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam!

Cosy, comfortable, quiet. Great views of the ocean

We had a one night stay at the Hermanus Beachfront Lodge, and wish we could have stayed for longer! The lodge got in touch with us ahead of our arrival, offering to help us book whale watching tours and restaurants, an offer we took them up on. Upon our arrival, Hester gave us recommendations for places to eat, and also called a few of them to check availability, although those places didn't pick up. Nevertheless, we ended up having a lovely dinner at one of her recommendations, enjoying the sunset while we drank the delicious local wine. We had one of the two-bedroom suites with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Our room came with mini-self-catering facilities which we didn't use, and a small standing balcony which we did use. The bed was large and comfortable, as were the armchairs by the balcony. It was really nice and relaxing to listen to the ocean waves. During the day, we even caught a glimpse or two of whales out in the distance. Very, very cool. Breakfast was nicely served, with a fruit platter laid out on our table to start. The hot offering was nicely cooked and the coffee was the best hotel/B&B coffee I had during my two week stay in South Africa, with a faint taste of blueberries! In terms of its location, the lodge is a little far from the centre of town where the restaurants and whale watching tours are located, but not far if you have a car. The lodge is located close to the cliff path, which can be a nice short walk - or long hike, up to you!

Watch whales from your room.

Hester, the manager, was exceedingly helpful to us during our stay. She arranged whale watching for us, booked restaurants and complementary taxi service to them in the evening. The view from the hotel is fabulous. The weather was rough while we were there, so unfortunately our boat trip was cancelled but we still managed to see whales from the cliffs.

Beautiful Ocean Views

Our room had fantastic views of the ocean and was a stone's throw from the famous cliff path. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back soon.
