"A truly beautiful venue, in a glorious setting. My ground floor room was spacious and aesthetically pleasing apart from the shower which didn’t drain and lack of hot water even at no peak times. The reception team and restaurant staff were very customer focused and professional. Unfortunately the spa team (apart from Kieran) could do with an attitude adjustment. It’s clear there is tension amongst themselves which shouldn’t be obvious to clients. "

"Nice comfortable hotel an easy walking distance from everything in Colchester. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good quality. I liked the fact that breakfast is 'a la carte', as that reduces wastage. Cleanliness is good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!"

"Very old world so just what we like,unfortunately weather spoilt it for walking.good parking.but thought price for very small room a bit too much.and too many stairs for elderly folk!Breakfast was excellent!"
