"The room was okay, nothing fancy, but for the price I thought it should have been better. One staff member was not pleasant at all. She just was not nice like I am used to to South Carolinians being. I lived in Charleston for several years and this is not what it was like before. This was not my first time staying on the Isle of Palms either. I thought I reserved an ocean view, but the view as only a partial view, that was disappointing as well. The place was clean, just not as nice as I thought it should have been for the price of it."

"The first night it’s took multiple worker to assist us in opening the door which took over and hr so we could get into our room, we we’re gave a multiple key cards till then came with two different computers to try to open the door, till the a worker came came with a magnet to open the door. He also gave an excuse about the dead bolt which we debunk with a video. Couldn’t even switch room"

"It was very clean and had the look and feel of a resort. The restaurant was convenient. Food not too bad. I would stay here again because the location was great."

"This is clearly an older property in need of significant updates, though it appears the owners may be in the very early stages of making improvements. Unfortunately, the room I received did not match the photos shown online. The stairways and hallways had peeling paint, AC units were leaking water into the hallways, the doors were poorly sealed, there was noticeable rust on many surfaces, and both the bathroom and overall room furnishings felt quite dated. That said, the bedding appeared clean, and the included breakfast was much better than expected. The location and views are absolutely beautiful and are easily the property's strongest assets. At the moment, this is more of a budget-friendly place to sleep than a destination property. If you're simply looking for an affordable room in a great location, it will likely meet your needs. However, it still has a long way to go before the accommodations match the appeal of the setting."

"First time I have stayed at this property. It was as good as my previous experience with this chain. It is a perfect location if you are going to a concert across the street at the coliseum. It’s like a five minute walk! The staff is very friendly, as well."

"Loved that the water taxi was so close. We never got to use the free shuttle. Always full. Bar staff was very nice."

Tides Folly Beach, Charleston's Oceanfront Hotel

"Hubby and I enjoyed our stay. Bed was comfortable. Free beach chairs was nice. Loved the salt water pool and beach bar. Location was great, very walkable. The balcony was tiny but we asked for chairs and they delivered. No microwave in the room but again we asked and one was delivered. The nearby constructions was an eye sore, felt so bad for the businesses. The rooms in my opinion are overpriced but it is what it is due to the location."
