"What an amazing hotel… away from main stream traffic, and a town away from bars/souvenir shops, etc. Breakfast was fair. Unfortunately their coffee offered is instant coffee and is quite obvious. However the ambience is quite good. Do wear comfy shoes as you will be climbing lots of stairs. Initially, it looks like a maze.
In the spur of the moment, we decided to go for a massage and what a fantastic Swedish massage we received (and we have had quite a few massages in the past). You have to take advantage of the spa services available."
"The place, designed and built by an art-minded architect who based his concept in Dante’s Divine Comedy, is absolutely outstanding. The Hell section underground, built inside a cave, hosts a stunning pool, the spa and the hammam (Turkish bath). The Purgatory section (ground floor) is where most of the guest rooms are. Ours, Archangel, was gorgeous and featured a bathtub made of a single slab of marble! The Heaven section is where the bar and the restaurant are. Both are excellent and beautiful. Dinner was great, but breakfast was out of this world. The many delicacies they put on our table, even before we ordered, was memorable.
I cannot stress enough the attention to detail in this place, which goes beyond the architecture and decoration to the staff itself. These guys arranged transportation, hot air ballon rides and area tours, and bent over backwards to make us happy.
Sacred House is probably one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at and certainly one of the most memorable."
"I booked this hotel because I wanted a thermal pool. The mineral water is very good (and very hot), I felt recovered after using the pool. However, the spa area needs refurbishing- the steam room and sauna were not working during my stay. Also, the pool area is not well ventilated and it is very uncomfortable to spend a long there. There are loungers but it is too humid and impossible to relax and cool down between using the pool. There should be a seperate area because the water is too hot to spend time without taking a break. You also need a swimming cap and luckily I knew this, because they are not provided or available to buy.
This hotel is mainly used by large tour groups, unfortunately I arrived at the same time as one was checking in and therefore it took a while to get seen and the tiny lifts made getting to the room with luggage quite a task. Food is okay, breakfast was not amazing but adequate. Dinner was better but I got moved to a dark corner due to not being part of one of the tour groups.
Reception staff were polite and helpful, I really appreciated a late checkout as my onward flight was late in the day. Restaurant staff were less welcoming, but fine. My room showed some signs of wear and tear, but the bed was comfortable.
Also be aware, this hotel is quite a long was from the main tourist areas and not all tours will pick you up. There is nothing nearby so when you get back from your day, you are basically in the hotel or will have to pay for taxis."
