Overall a great stay at the Dean in Galway. It was very close to shop street and all the other main attractions you’d want to check out while in the city.
Unfortunately the closest parking lot is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel at a public parking garage, but the hotel does offer a discounted day rate. The gym is very large and modern compared to most hotels in Ireland which was great.
The only other thing worth mentioning was at our initial check in the front desk worker made a point to tell us that if we would like our room cleaned, to make sure we put the sign on the handle “to be cleaned”, otherwise they won’t know to go in to the room or not. She even went into detail stating that if you just want towels you can always come up to the front desk and we can give you some if you don’t want the room cleaned. After our first night we went out for the day and made a point to not put the “to be cleaned” sign on our door as we had all our important stuff left out in the room including passports/ cameras, computers. When we came back to the hotel room that evening, the towels in the room had been changed in the bathroom to fresh ones but the room had not been cleaned otherwise…. We were very disappointed in the miscommunication as we are usually travellers who would leave the do not disturb sign on the door when we don’t want someone coming in our room, but chose not to as they specifically stated someone would only come in if we left the sign on the door to be cleaned.
