First two nights were great, staff were friendly and I felt happy staying there. Then it changed with a very rude member of staff at breakfast.
So put off my the experience, I avoided going the next morning, and dreaded it afterwards. Last day, checking out. Waiting for taxi to arrive to go to Shannon Airport, 1 hr drive away.
No orher seats available to sit and wait in reception. Only these two. Other was occupied.
Pointed out the inconsideration of another traveller, blocking an entire seat to Manageress on reception desk, who, instead of being helpful by asking the owners to remove the pile of suitcase, thought it best to be rude argumentative. Really wasn’t interested. Finally did manage to secure a seat, ever so briefly, as the taxi driver was early. And how sarcastic was the Manageress. Totally uncalled for..
Thing is, don’t dare say anything at all. It is not appreciated. That is the clear impression I got.
So, to me that was just the last straw. I won’t be back. Sad, how a great hotel and amazing staff can be let down by just two individuals who clearly don’t like their jobs, and have no interpersonal skills dealing with the public in hospitality. It really wasn’t a big ask, was it??
