"We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The manager Chandana Lakmal and the rest of the staff were attentive to our every need, setting us up with transport to and from Colombo as well as tickets for the ongoing Test match. Everyone was incredibly kind without ever coming off as obsequious. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the property was simply gorgeous - an oasis of utter calm amidst the Galle hubbub. It is well located in that one can walk to the historic Fort area in 20 minutes. Definitely our first port of call at any future trips!"
The Dutch Bungalow

"While the amenities are limited, it's also not the type of place where you go to steal all of the mini shampoos. The Dutch Bungalow was the one place we stayed at the longest in Sri Lanka - 4 nights on a 3 week trip. It was also our favorite place to stay. Even thought we stayed at many places with a breakfast buffet, this was my favorite breakfast of all. Such an intimate and friendly setting and a superb location. We were able to explore the Fort area over the 4 days to the point that we knew where most things were and felt to comfortable looking everywhere. In the morning, I went out at sunrise and walked the walls of Galle Fort and saw everything waking up and starting. Each day was special and revealed something special about SL. The staff were outstanding and very friendly and helpful with anything and everything. We were sad to leave to move on to a large hotel where we were attending a large event. This was our happy place in Sri Lanka!"

"Great location inside the fort walls, so close to shopping, dining and historic sites. Staff very so nice and helpful, and the breakfasts, which were different every day and were freshly made local food, are probably the best breakfasts we've had in any country when travelling overseas. Beautifully restored building with tasteful period style decor. Good a/c plus a ceiling fan"

"This is a Beautiful old Villa right in the heart of Galle Fort. Room was amazing very generous in size and beautifully styled in colonial manner, huge balcony and excellent bathroom leading off the balcony all 100% private we loved it ! A beautiful small pool which I enjoyed a lot. Full service for fools and beverage should it be required. Breakfast was a real treat served in the dining area overlooking the garden and pool. Staff were 1st rate and helped make the stay special. I will be back !"

"This place is a gem. The location is PERFECT, beautiful shops and restaurants right on your doorstep and close to the fort. Its in a lovely historic building with the most beautiful woodwork and interior. We had the family room which had two large and comfortable beds. The internet works fantastically - I was able to do a zoom call for work with no issues or delays. Lovely kind staff."

"Staff were lovely, the breakfast was exceptional and location perfect. The beds were comfortable. We had a family room so no window to the outside apart from a small window looking over the foyer and the climb to the second bed very steep. Unfortunately there was no hot water and the information provided was that it would not be repaired for several days and applied to the whole property. Staff seemed unconcerned when we complained and a partial refund (about 1/5 of room cost) was provided. Fortunately we had only booked 2 nights but other than hot water it was lovely."
