Crossing the Nullarbor of South Australia was one of the most fascinating things we've ever done. Roughly 1700km of hot, desolate, near-nothingness, punctuated by the odd tree or dead 'roo. We camped on the side of the road when we could, until the wind sent our tent off like a tumbleweed one evening. Although I wouldn't call it the proper "outback", it was still an amazing experience.

Just before Eucla in Western Australia is the South Australia/Western Australia border crossing and quarantine station, along with a roadhouse where food and fuel are available. This day was at least 45 degrees - crossing the Nullarbor in a vintage land rover... life doesn't get any better for the adventurous :-) #nullarbor #landrover #eucla #westernaustralia #southaustralia #treelessplain
