Not the friendliest staff, the bed is extremely uncomfortable and the layout of the room doesn’t make too much sense. There is a school wall2wall so you can imagine how noisy the hotel was.

Spacious rooms in a great location

I really enjoyed my stay at the Relais Modern. While the room was basic, it was spacious, clean, it had everything I needed and it was comfortable. The location was also excellent, only a 5min walk to the Accademia Gallery, 10mins to the Duomo and 20mins to everywhere else in the city. There was also a bus stop right outside. It may have not been the most romantic hotel if that’s what you’re after, but for a solo traveller, friends or family trip it was great.

部屋に入って電気を使おうとしたところ、エアコン以外に何も使うことができなかったためホテルの方に連絡をしたところ、対応をしてくださるというような言い回しであったため待っていたが連絡もこず。その後予定があったので置き手紙をして外出したが、外出後も修理やその他の対策もなく、滞在中一切充電やドライヤー等使えない状態で過ごした。また、翌朝スタッフが出勤してきた際に伝えて外出をしたが、戻った時にはそのことを忘れたかのような対応で、もう一度こちらから質問をするまで一切返事がなかった。また、翌日別のゲストが泊まる際にもおそらく改善されないまま部屋を提供しており、ゲストがスタッフに電話をしているところを目撃した。そうじて、ホテルとしてはあり得ないと思う。

Cozy and quiet hotel near main tourist sites

We came as a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and loved our rooms at Relais Modern. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well air conditioned. Perfect location. About a 10 min walk to Il Duomo and other sites, so we were in a quiet neighbourhood out of the main tourist clog. I would absolutely stay here again.

Location is nice, facilities are bad.

Too bad the lack of a constant employee at the hotel. Reception only works until noon. A tiny hotel. The room and beds were nice but the internet sucks, which was one of the most important things for us to keep the child entertained in the evening and to liaise with our family. It's hard to say breakfast for breakfast. There's only a cake, a cornflex, a jam. Honey was frozen. We're never saturated.

Fist off, this property is not conveniently located, and the breakfast was very poor. Basically just cold meats and cheeses. However, the worst part of the entire experience was the hotel’s handling of us having to leave a day early. The front desk leaves at 1pm, so there is no way of handling issues that may arise. On the morning that we needed to leave, we immediately went to the desk and explained our situation. We were told that it would be no problem, we just needed Expedia to call and okay the refund for the night. However, when Expedia called, the same desk agent told them that he would not allow a refund, and Expedia wanted to escalate it to management. As we left, the front desk assured us that it would be taken care of (did not make sense). A few days later, we received an email from Expedia stating that no refund could be issued in reference to the cancellation policy. But, the cancellation policy referenced did not match what is listed in the hotel’s website. I’d stay far away from Relais Modern.

Spacious rooms

The rooms were very spacious and squeaky clean. The bed was extremely confortable and large for a stay in Europe. The place is a little far from the train station and the old city of Florence but has plenty of bus stations around to get around the city. If you don’t mind a bit of a walk into town or staying in a larger group, recommended.
