"My stay was for 16 nights for work, I discovered on my third night that the HVAC was not working in my room. I reported this to reception and was informed that they were aware of this and assured me that maintenance would be sorting it the next day, and I was supplied with a fan and a heater - given that the there are only 1 spare power sockets I had to juggle the kettle, fan, heater and charging laptop, phones, ipads etc. After further 3 days I requested a room I requested a room change and was assured that the HVAC was working in the new room. Needless to say it wasn't and I had the daily pleasure of having my hopes dashed that I would have AC that night. Sleep with the window open??? When the weather was good, smokers gather along the front of the hotel and the rooms above inevitably fill with cigarette fumes and with no HVAC to clear the room one, when the weather was bad, I spend the nights opening and closing the window to avoid window banging or rain being blown onto the window sill. I understand that the HVAC repair would take time, but once it was obvious that it wasn't being repaired, why move me to a different room with the same problem - I've spent 96 nights at the Village hotel this year, I'm going to look for alternatives after my next (already booked) stay."

"The property is easy to find and beautiful from the start. There is plenty of parking on site. Check in was easy. Our room was spacious, bright, clean, and up to date with a large closet for luggage and coats/clothes. The bed was super comfortable with nice crisp clean linens and comfy pillows. Very clean bathroom with a very nice stand up shower. Staff were always friendly, personable, and more than helpful. Right after we checked in we ordered room service from the bar, which was brought up fairly quickly. Food was nice and hot and very good. We also ate at the restaurant the following night. Everything was wonderful, but we really enjoyed the bread pudding. The overall experience, from the food to the staff, to the atmosphere, made our stay exceptional."

"Quite possibly the worst hotel room we have ever had! On entering the room the disgusting smell hit us- almost like stale tobacco. We had to spray perfume/body spray to tolerate the smell. When we put down the roller blind there was graffiti on it. The sink in the bathroom was leaking onto the floor. The floor of the room was running off, walk uphill to get to the toilet, run down the hill to get to the bed! Thankfully, we only had one night booked, checked in late and checked out early. We told the member of staff when we checked out, he apologised saying hopefully it would be better next time - there will not be a next time, will not return."
