"Such a great stay! Some of the staff were excellent to work with and have conversations with. The room was large and quaint. The pool was secluded and fairly quiet. Convenient location for walking to eat and explore. The only issue we had was the shower only out out hot water and we couldn’t take a shower because it was too hot. They told us the plumber could not come on the weekend. We had the option to switch to a queen room or keep or king room. Apart from that issue this was a great place...

"We loved our stay here! We stayed in the La Sirena suite which is at the very top of the building. Below I list some 'cons' but they weren't really cons - more of considerations for those who might be sensitive to certain factors. Pros: - Excellent location - relatively chill block but close to so much. - R Bar on the ground floor is a great no frills neighborhood bar with mix of locals and tourists. Lively but not overly crowded, superb staff, and old school movies playing on the big screen....

"We had a suite and there was plenty of room. We enjoyed the sitting area. The pool and hot tub area were very nice. The check in staff was so friendly. We loved it was historical. Be aware it is historical and although there have been upgrades, it is an older home. Overall it was great and we would return. "

"I want to discourage everyone from staying at the Royal Frenchman… in order to keep this place to myself! Don’t stay here if want a modern hotel, with many modern amenities, lacking in character and charm. Don’t stay if colorful staff with a passion for the music of New Orleans ( which they bring nightly to the hotel lobby or courtyard) is not your thing. "Perfect retreat for my celebration of life trip to NOLA! The Bunk House room is a gem with its unique, solid bunk bed and dreamy wall art creating a magical ambiance. Though not large, the room is thoughtfully organized, feeling spacious and functional. The powerful AC and fan were lifesavers in the heat, and the shower's water pressure was incredible after city explorations. Loved the practical touches - great coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave for storing late-night po' boys from NOLA...

"Staff was excellent. Property is very New Orleans. Lots of history and unique. Not going to get a full nights sleep here being so close to Lafitte’s Bar. Room was nice and balcony was fun for people watching. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. "

"The property is well located. Close to many attractions. If you have a car, parking through the hotel is expensive (better try apps which will give you more affordable options). The staff was courteous and attentive. The breakfast is just ok. The room was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom needs some handrails to accommodate guest with mobility issues."

"Our stay at Lamothe House was actually in one of the rooms on Kerlerec St. and we had our own front porch. The hotel is beautiful, conveniently located to the French Quarter. Our room was clean and comfortable. The price for the room was great which made up for paying $40/day for secure parking. "

"I was sceptical at first because there were reviews about it being in a rough neighbourhood , however, that is not the case it is right beside the medical school and veterans hospital. It is a 5 minute walk to the canal street car, taking less than 15 minutes to get to the French Quarter. We had no issue walking to and from the place at night. Very clean, very quiet and amazing for the price. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have a nice place to stay and I quiet place to sleep. "

"Excellent location and charm. Items noted in previous reviews still remain. Very uncomfortable bed, and the whole suite could use some love and a deep clean. A few furniture pieces were different than the photos (purple velvet settee/sleeper is a now a generic uncomfortable futon). Overall great stay, but not quite 5 stars based on items noted. The courtyard area right outside our door was beautiful!"
