I need to share that the exceptional staff listened when I happened to mention that our stay would be for our 5th wedding anniversary, and we found a wonderful cheesecake sampler plate in our room after checking in with a hand-written note. That was a very nice gesture and made us feel very welcome and appreciated.
On the other side of that coin, I feel compelled to express my profound disappointment over the continental breakfast (which could hardly be called that). Providing a bowl of fruit - and not really fruit that one would associate with breakfast - along with tiny granola bars and less-than-appetizing muffins isn't what I expected from this resort. That kind of thing is usually reserved for a Best Western or a Motel 6 (and frankly, they do a better job of it than this resort did). I suggest the owners consider upping their game when it comes to this. While I understand it was a weekday and you don't want to put out all sorts of food, surely the staff can analyze how many people are staying on those days and put out something a little bit better/more appealing?
All of that said, our stay was exemplary, and we will be returning in the future given that this resort has become our place to stay for our anniversary. Here's hoping they take these comments seriously and do better with their complimentary breakfast.
