Mataranka has a thermal pool which looks like a swimming pool. However, a bit further down is Bitter Springs. It's a gorgeous natural pool where you can swim and snorkel. It looks so tropical and you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. You can also follow the stream for about 100m and climb out via a ladder. Bring a mask for the best experience!
"Bitter Springs" in Elsey National Park at Mataranka. Lovely thermal spring. The current flows from left to right, you float down, walk back, then repeat. Bring a noodle or floatation device as it's too deep to stand
