You live in a holiday home completely renovated and modernised in 2016 with separate bedroom, large living-dining-kitchen with additional usable fireplace, bathroom (WC) and anteroom of approx. 70 m². The garden is located directly behind the house.
Our holiday home is located in the climatic health resort of Carlsfeld at 848 m above sea level in a quiet yet central location, ideal for 4 to 5 people. Our non-smoking house has a fitted kitchen (large ceramic hob, large fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle), satellite TV, DVD, CD radio, lockable bicycle and ski storage, charcoal grill, outdoor seating area, cot, high chair, children's toys, board games.

The holiday home is located in Carlsfeld, one of the most beautiful places in the upper Erzgebirge, which is also considered the most snow-sure. It is located directly on the high cross-country ski trail and has direct access to the Kammloipe. The Vogtland, Eibenstock, the Auersberg and Johanngeorgenstadt, with a motorway border crossing to the Czech Republic, are all within 10 km of our house.
The municipality of Carlsfeld lies between 840 and 920 metres above sea level in a hollow of the West Erzgebirge ridge landscape. It is located directly on the border with the Czech Republic and the Vogtland region. Due to its geographical location, Carlsfeld is one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Free State of Saxony. Guests can enjoy 50 kilometres of cross-country ski trails, a 400-metre double drag lift with snowmaking facilities on the floodlit ski slope and a ski school. The annual ski carnival is an exuberant event. A small ski museum provides insights into the origins of the "snowshoe" and the history of skiing in Carlsfeld, while in summer, well-marked cycle and hiking trails reveal the rugged charm of the tranquil landscape. Cosy inns invite you to linger. The Trinitatis Church - the oldest sacred circular building in Saxony - is a well-known sight, and since 1930 the highest drinking water reservoir in Germany has been located in the former forest settlement of Weiterswiese. The original flora and fauna is still very rich in species. Particularly worth preserving: the "Großer & Kleiner Kranichsee" nature reserve - a unique 300-hectare reserve. Carlsfeld once achieved world fame for the production of bandonions. People still like to play these instruments today.
Sports in summer and winter:
Erzgebirge/Vogtland Nature Park: Kammloipe - one of the longest and most snow-sure cross-country ski trails in Germany for all ability levels - with many ski tour options in winter and cycling options in summer. There is also an extensive, well-signposted network of hiking and cycling trails, including the European long-distance hiking trail E3. There are also many treasures to be found here for geocaching fans.
The DTT - Drei-Talsperren-Marathon, one of the largest mountain bike and running competitions in eastern Germany, also passes through Carlsfeld. The Trans Germany and not forgetting the Stoneman Miriquidi also bring cycling fanatics to the region.
Winter sports:
Kammloipe with many connected local cross-country skiing trails for all ability levels. Every year in February, the Kammlauf from Klingenthal via Carlsfeld to Johanngeorgenstadt and back takes place here, making it the largest fun run in eastern Germany. Many romantic winter hiking trails. Carlsfeld has a family-friendly ski and toboggan slope with double drag lift at the "Hirschkopf" and for all children and beginners the "Ski-Fun-Park" with ski school and magic carpet, further ski slopes in Wildenthal, Eibenstock, Johanngeorgenstadt, Oberwiesenthal, Schöneck, as well as on the Czech side. In Carlsfeld, 2 ski hire centres offer everything a winter sports enthusiast could wish for. For ice skating, there is the natural ice stadium in Johanngeorgenstadt and the ice rink in Schönheide.
