  • Growing up in Australia listening to the tales of bravery and valour shown by both sides at Gallipoli in 1915, it was only natural that it was one of the first places I should visit in Turkey. This is the French Military Cemetery and it was so incredibly peaceful, it was one of my favourite places. It is beautifully tended, with lovely views out over the sea and I was the only person there - probably because it was the middle of winter! I will go back here and spend a few days self driving in order to spend more time in places like this. I am glad i did a tour that first day though, being both pushed for time and interested to hear the Turkish perspective from my very knowledgeable guide.

Cannot say enough about my stay here. Great service, detailed local information, and a comfortable room helped me tick the Gallipoli peninsula off my bucket list in a great way. I'll definitely stay here again if I make a return trip in the future.

Thanks you for a great few days. Your hotel is very nice, clean, warm with endless hot water. The breakfast is great and your rooms are huge :) Your staff are really friendly and helpful too. And you serve beer too which isn't very common away from the main tourist resorts. We had a lovely time and saw so much. It was a very special experience :) XX

TJ’s was home away from home. TJ himself welcomed us and his staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the hotel was not too far from the ferry and the town centre. Definitely highly recommended.

This is definitely home away from home for us Australians. TJ and his staff looked after us so well, they’ve even got Vegemite and marmite for breakfast!! Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, reliable and fast wifi, and very helpful, informative and friendly staff. After having been on a road trip for the last 2.5 weeks around Turkey, TJ’s hotel was definitely a nice place to rest up before we go back home. I would definitely highly recommend TJ’s.

Knowledgeable host

The hotel is just opposite the ferry. TJ was very helpful in telling us where to go in regards to Gallipoli as we were interested in seeing the memorial sites etc. His knowlege is fantastic. Breakfast was lovely. Hotel and room was dated but comfortable and clean. We had a double room which was huge. All staff were friendly amd welcoming. Thank you TJ and your team.

Just perfect

Hotel is conveniently located closed to the ferry pier to Canakkale and few km away from Gallipoli battlefields. Rooms are big and very, very clean, the two youngs at the desk are estremely friendly and speak English very well. The owner, Mr. Ilhami Gezici organizes tours by bus to the Gallipoli battlefield and is considered one of the best experts on this subject.

horrendous place

The rooms very filthy, smelling of smoke. There was no hot water to take a bath. Breakfast was one of the worst we’d had. Don’t recommend.

This is not a highly rated hotel stars wise but what it lacks in stars it makes up for in staff friendliness and delicious breakfast. The room that we stayed in on the 3rd floor was tired and definitely needs an upgrade and but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and that is all we wanted for our visit. Thanks TJ.
