"A really handy stop off on the way to the coast to an event. Easy parking, clean room and bathroom, comfy bed plus lovely staff! As we arrived later in the day we decided to eat in the pub next door.. the food was basic but OK. The breakfast was also served in the pub and at both meals the staff were really welcoming and helpful. I would stay again if I was in the area overnight."

"The staff were very friendly and supportive. I needed to extend my room very late at night and they were so kind to do it for me. Location is great too. The only issue was that I found a bug on the bed sheet. The staff assured me that it’s not a bedbug and it’s a carpet bug! Anyhow I don’t think it’s appropriate to see a bug of any kind on the bed sheet. I ended up putting towels on the bed to able to lay down but it was not a good night sleep at all. "Absolute shambles from start to finish. I stayed at this hotel with two colleagues. The check in process was a joke, it took 45 minutes in the end, during which they couldn't find my booking. The charged me again for breakfast I'd already paid for. The staff were unapologetic, unprofessional and irritating, not listening and they seemed to find it funny that it took so long. "Das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber aber hellhörig. Das Bad war ausreichend groß. Leider hatte das Zimmer kein Tageslicht da es mit einer „Fassade“ umgeben war. Wir konnten in eine Art Innenhof gucken oder was immer das auch war. Die Dame an der Rezeption war scheinbar nicht gut drauf, dass hat sie sich auch etwas anmerken lassen. Schade !"

"I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and this has got to be one of the worst check-in experiences I’ve ever had. Why does everyone have to show photo ID? It’s officious and over-reaching. I’ve paid up front, I’ve provided a rather hefty £100 deposit and I’ve shown my ID…. Why does everyone else? It’s only by luck my partner had ID with him when he arrived later otherwise the Reception seriously were saying they weren’t going to let him stay. Very stressful experience, not what you want...

"Staff were helpful and friendly but I had to wait nearly an hour for them to check that the tv in my room wasn't working. Terrible that each room only has 2 cups and 2 tsp. Extras had to be requested and I was given a cracked glass and a dirty knife. I was too tired and fed up to complain by that point. Rooms remind me of a student bedsit. Pool and sauna were nice I had a terrible night sleep bc I could hear the DLR trains and also humming from fridge."

"CitizenM concept is great for solo travelers. This particular property is perfectly situated right at the convenient Tower Hill tube station and overlooks Trinity Square. Top floor lounge has an amazing view of the Tower of London and the Shard — as do many of the rooms. Stayed here before, will stay again."

"We stayed in room 922, while a lovely spacious quiet room, there were a few issues. Green flashing light above bed, which goes off all through the night. Asked reception 3 times to sort, eventually they covered this. The access door to the room, whenever opened it made a air sooking noise that we could hear - staff/guests opened this door for no reason. It would be good if a sign was on saying no access etc. We had to ask for the tea/coffee/milk to be replenished as it was not done so...

"The hotel was walking distance from the underground and one stop to the O2 arena if you are watching concert. It is nearby to some restaurant and shopping stores underground. The staff are very helpful. There is a kettle in the room and water. We had a good night sleep. Good for overnight stay."

I was informed I can’t get a different view as the full view side was taken - yet you could still book any kinds of rooms online so not sure how booked out they truly were.
