"Great hotel but a bit dated. Restaurant and bar area are great, food fantastic if a little pricey. Pool could use a refurb and the jacuzzi was closed disappointingly Great location, great staff. I went with a superior room which was lovely and spacious but very dated. Would stay again but wouldn’t pay extra for an upgraded room."

"I stayed for three nights the staff and food was amazing I wanted a little break away from my busy lifestyle and this was the place to be. i will be back with my partner and dog again thank you Keep up the good work guys"

"Great staff"

"This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners. Kenny and staff have put together an eclectic playlist of songs that are ever present in the background but not so loud as to interfere with conversation. The entire staff works hard to...

"Brilliant hotel. Cosy place (which even had the pub dog greeting us which was amazing!). Only thing preventing this from being 5 stars was the shower facilities. Shower faucet is restrictive which can cause issues if you’re not wanting to get your hair wet. Maybe disposable shower caps could be provided to help this issue. Other than that though a fantastic place in a peaceful location. Would definitely stay again!"

"The Devonshire Arms hotel is a really lovely place to stay. The room had everything we needed including a fridge and ironing board. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Super breakfast though there was no gluten free cereal available."

"A thoroughly enjoyable stay. All the staff we encountered were so warm and friendly. Our room was very well equipped and spotless with quality fittings. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and great quality, the breakfast staff were very polite and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely look to return."

"Stay often, so it must be good"

"The plough inn was very helpful when I booked the wrong night and needed to change it, the plough could have just kept the money but agreed to the change. The room and bed were comfortable, the shower however didn’t work properly, it was a small matter overall in our stay. Breakfast was excellent staff very helpful."

"Castle itself is great. The annexe rooms are very small, basic. Bathroom again is tiny and cramped. Its a shower /bath which if mobility issues would be hard to get in and out. Shower ran at lukewarm . Would be better to rip out and install standing walking shower. Rooms all need a full refurb."

"Room was excellent with great shower. Evening meal from the restaurant menu was very good. Continental style breakfast was served to the room in a basket hamper. An enjoyable stay overall"

"Amazing location and lovely staff. Sunday roast was delicious! Our room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. We came for the dark skies, and it was easy to pop outside at 3am when the clouds broke for a moment. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be and we’ve already booked a return trip next year."
