"Fantastic property and in a beautiful location in the middle of the rainforest. Lots of activity to do in and around the property in the middle of the rainforest - wildlife watching, ziplining, horseback riding, hiking and much more to do. The rooms are also so set in beautiful surroundings right in the middle of nature. Worth the extra expense and highly recommend for couples and families with kids !"

"Kaluma Villas was perfect for our family of 4. We stayed in the deluxe chalet which was very spacious and clean, and was fully equipped in both the kitchen and bathrooms. The private pool was a very nice feature. Communication throughout our stay was excellent, with great suggestions on supermarkets/restaurants/activities etc. Highly recommended staying here!"

Reception was so helpful in planning my itinerary and arranging transportation. The on site tour guides were knowledgeable and passionate about their work. "Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest. We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old. We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property. "

It can be interrupting and is unnecessary. Decorations are very will developed in Costa Rican style and very fine test. "Schönes Zelt mitten im Regenwald. Die Anfahrt war allerdings etwas anstrengend. Deshalb sind wir auch beide Tage dort geblieben und haben vor Ort Wanderungen gemacht oder waren am Pool. Der ist klein, aber sehr hübsch angelegt. Frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr gut. Wifi nur im Hauptgebäude. "

"The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. "If you were only staying for one or two nights in Chachagua, then this motel might suit you fine, please be highly aware of their nonrefundable policy. I made the mistake of booking this hotel for two weeks so that I had a homebase for my entire stay in Costa Rica. When I realize that I was not very happy staying there, I was unable to cancel or get refunded for my unused nights."
