Courtyard by Marriott Freiburg

"This hotel is exceptional in all aspects. My daughter and I stayed here for 7 nights and from the moment we stepped through the door we were wowed by the immaculate entrance way and the lovely fresh aroma. We instantly felt at home and knowing that only guests with key cards can access floors above reception made us feel very safe in a strange city. Our room was huge, with a lovely large window overlooking the street at the front of the hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. The air con was very effective which was much needed in the height of summer. The location of the hotel, being so close to the train station, was perfect for us as we were travelling by train most days to do sightseeing beyond Freiburg. It was also only a short walk into the centre of Freiburg to get to a huge variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and the spectacular cathedral. If we ever return to Freiburg we will definitely stay here and we’ll recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area."

"Clean, basic stay. 10 min walk from Ringsheim train station and a short bus ride to Rulantica and Europa Park. Housekeeping generally only on request. Limited dinner and breakfast options, but there is a Subway and pizza/pasta restaurant (which also offers takeaway) directly opposite. Would stay again for convenience to station/parks; it was very clean and suited our needs overall."

"We recently stayed here for 3 nights. Overall, the hotel itself is nice and comfortable, but the housekeeping service was a major disappointment. Upon check-in, we explicitly requested daily room cleaning and fresh towels for our entire stay. However, during 2 out of the 3 nights, our room was completely ignored—no clean towels and no service at all. When we raised the issue after the first day, the front desk claimed it wasn't noted in their system. To their credit, they apologized and compensated us with 4 complimentary drink vouchers, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened after the second day. Once again, our room wasn't cleaned, and when we spoke to the staff, they used the exact same excuse—that it wasn't recorded in the system. This time, however, no compensation or real solution was offered. It’s a shame because the hotel has great potential, but basic communication and housekeeping consistency definitely need improvement."

"Great location and really helpful and friendly staff. Accommodation and facilities were very clean and well maintained. We stayed in a ‘small house’ as a family- 2 adults and 2 teens. Only down side was my husband’s snoring which the kids complained about! But can’t fault the accommodation for that. They were a bit apprehensive about the shared facilities but actually all worked really well given how long it can take for them to get ready!"

"A pleasant enough stay. We weren’t there long and it was clean and seemed to have all we needed but was a bit soulless. The air con was ‘sustainable’ and as it was very hot struggled. Room and bathroom were good size but it just didn’t have any character"
