My experience so far has been very poor but thats not on the hotel employees. They have been great. I just had higher expectations, since I had booked my original 2.5 Star hotel over 6 weeks ago. As we were arriving into Denver, CO via Amtrak, an Expedia rep called 4 hrs prior to our arrival, but having spotty cell reception, we lost connection, I had to call back and spoke with Sean. Having discussed the situation, he stated that he would be able to find me another comparable hotel. I was only offered a handfull options and but took the one we thought, from looking at the online pictures, was our best option. When we arrived, we realized the pictures were pretty misleading. The Plaza hotel is in lowely condition and in need of renovation and updating. The swiming pool, we were told is under construction. The previous hot tub has been covered in with dirt with weeds growing everywhere. Out first room that we were given key cards to, was actually occupied with someone's luggage and the t.v. was on. We immediately returned to the reception desk and was told, "that is the room that you have been assigned to..." the gal replied as if she didn't assign the room, that it was assigned by Expedia when they made the reservation 90 minutes prior. This hotel has a lot of potential but at it's current condition, I would rate it as a 1.5 star, something similar to a Motel 6 or even a Budget Inn. After this trip, I won't be using Expedia.
