Lovely location, clear directions for check in and all instructions for the house easily found. Clean, tidy and exactly as advertised. Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful time at Bruna John’s place. I highly recommend it. It was quiet, comfortable, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. Plus, all the provided accessories were high quality.
Bruna and John’s retreat was warm, comfortable and welcoming. We loved the peaceful location and waking up to the birds in the morning. The kids enjoyed exploring the creek and coming back to a toasty fire.
Mount Roland Retreat is such a special place, we loved it from the first moment we stepped in! Idyllic location right in the middle of the forest with an incredible view and total peace and quiet. Tastefully furnished, super clean and well-maintained – fresh bread waiting on arrival included. The little one loved her playroom, the bathtub with a view was amazing, and we slept wonderfully. Nothing was missing, perfect base for the Cradle Region and surroundings of Sheffield. One of the best on the island, we would love to come back!
The home was warm on arrival, very comfortably furnished. We found everything we needed for a cosy stay. The property is in a lovely quiet spot, right in the tree tops! Definitely recommend, especially if you want to be close to bush walks.

Sheffield and surrounds are a great for 2-3d visit and easy day trip to Cradle Mountain.
It is a modern and well-appointed property with a very practical and user-friendly layout in a great location. Great value and convenient to explore the Cradle Mountain region.

Fantastic home in the forest at the foot of Mount Roland. Great location and guest facilities. Not a single criticism.
Accommodation had everything we needed and was very clean and well maintained. Quiet location that is still close to Sheffield. Very relaxing to sit on the patio soaking in the quiet calm of the forest and watching wallabies, pademelons and birds in the mornings and at dusk. Some games were also provided so we had some good family fun playing monopoly after dinner. Thanks Bruna & John for a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay!
The property is in a quiet location on the foothills of Mt Rowland, near Sheffield, Tasmania.
Zoned electric heating and a log fireplace are provided with a plentiful supply of timber for the fire inside and at the front door.
Pick-up supplies at Sheffield from the IGA. Coffee at the Epicurean Cafe

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rolands . It was peaceful & pleasant with all the comforts of home . Our grand daughter loved the toys in " her bedroom" and the combustion heater was perfect way to end the day . Thankyou . Would love to return one day
This house was so quiet you can listen to nothing. A beautifully presented spacious home that had everything we needed. The glass windows captured the heat from the sunlight which meant that the rooms were beautifully warm. We lit the fire each night to take the night chill off. Very well appointed home, would highly recommend.
We enjoyed a couple of very comfortable nights here. The living area is spacious and warm. We were asked to take our shoes off but no seating was provided near the door. The gravel driveway is a bit nasty. We were in a hired Rav 4. Heavy vehicke with no 4wd. Hard to
My family and I just returned from 8 nights at Rowlands Feet. What an amazing place. The house is clean, modern and open with amazing views of the surrounding forest. It was so quiet and peaceful, and a real joy to sit on the deck and listen to the birds. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas eg Cradle Mountain, Tasmazia, Devonport, Mole Creek Caves etc. but the highlight was the secluded and private location of the house. Really enjoyed our stay here and Sally and Rex were wonderful and accomodating hosts. Will definitely be back.
Loved the place. Beautiful house, in a beautiful area.
The house is modern and well equipped, with very comfortable beds and linen.
The surrounding property is amazing, and there is lots of wildlife around. One night we sat out on the deck and watched a couple of pademelons come and visit. There were plenty of birds and bumble bees that came to visit as well.
There is a bubbling little creek at the bottom of the property, which is not well advertised.
Bathtub is very nice, and the hot water system was more than capable of filling it. All the extra towels, face washers and tea-towels were very useful to have.
Suggested Improvements:
- No sieve - Very hard to rinse rice :D
- A map of the property would be cool, show how to get to the little creek. Seat at the creek wouldn’t go astray either.
Minor complaints:
- TV is tiny
- Fireplace seems to not work correctly, tended to put the fire out no matter what we did to it, seemed to be struggling to pull in enough oxygen unless the door was open, which let smoke into the room
- Specific to our stay, but the internet cut out due to the ownership change over. Not likely to impact anyone else, just unfortunate timing.
- As per usual with rental properties, a previous tenant had stashed some dirty dishes into the cupboards.
Loved the area and the facilities, except one bed room was only suitable for children as the beds were bunk beds and there was no where to hang up any clothes.
