"Really nice family-run hotel, situated in a quiet side street near the main area of Cherbourg for shops, bars and restaurants, and about 30 minutes' walk from the ferry terminal. Quiet, clean and comfortable, with a delicious buffet breakfast comprising many home-made treats. A comfortable bed combined with the quiet environment and blackout curtains to ensure a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spacious, clean and well-equipped, adding to the impression of a thoughtfully furnished and decorated room. Many of the staff you will encounter are members of the extended family who run the hotel, and you will find them to be friendly and attentive but discreet. They were also happy to converse with me in French which was good practice for me! I actually liked everything about it and I think you probably will too..."

"Absolutely lovely stay - the staff were very friendly, the room was excellent and very clean. The breakfast was great, especially the orange press machine. We loved the robot that collected dirty plates and returned with clean ones!"

"We stayed at the Mercure Hotel Cherbourg for one night and, overall, had a very pleasant stay. Check-in was quick and efficient, and we received a warm, friendly welcome from the staff. The hotel's location is excellent, and our room was spacious, clean, quiet, and had very comfortable beds, making for a great night's sleep. The only disappointing part of our stay was lunch in the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was fairly average, and the food was well below the standard we expected. I ordered the chicken focaccia with fries, and it was honestly the worst hotel lunch I've had. The sandwich appeared to have come straight from the fridge, with very cold bread and wilted salad leaves. Most disappointing was the chicken, which consisted of brown leg meat containing pieces of cartilage and bone. It was not enjoyable, I didn't eat it (staff did not enquire as to why) and certainly didn't reflect the quality of the hotel itself. Despite this, we would happily stay at the hotel again, but we would choose to eat elsewhere next time."

"Staff were great with ample parking to the rear, with the room being nice and clean with exceptionally comfortable beds. The 2 disappointments were, shower was small even for someone 5' 7" tall, and the breakfast was grossly over charged for what was offered."

"A great little hotel tucked away in the pedestrian area with easy free parking on (Parking Divette) a few minutes walk. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and room immaculately clean and tidy with zero clutter. I didn't get breakfast, but it looked well set up with a small dining area for the morning. Check in was smooth and a lift provides easy access to the upper floors. Would definately book again."

"The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. I don’t speak a lot of French but she was really understanding. The shower in the room was great and the room was very quiet and clean with a very comfortable bed, so a good nights sleep. I didn’t have breakfast but the dining area looked clean too. I was glad of the gated parking as I had my electric bike on the back of my car and felt it would be secure at night. Would definitely stay again when I next visit France."
