Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The ease of the ground floor was great. The check in clerk was not friendly. Check in was easy but I don’t believe he looked at us after looking at my license. Not welcoming. The hotel is under a renovation. The work was extremely loud. The room was clean however a spill of mop water was on the floor which made the room have a strong pinesole smell. It was difficult to breathe. Sparse accommodations but again very clean. The maid staff was very friendly. Breakfast was ok.
At first glance, this hotel was a regular, NOT fancy drive-up place, but we were pleasantly surprised at the room itself. Inside, it was well-appointed with exactly what we needed for our one-night stay. We did not eat breakfast there, as we had to hit the road early. The beds were very comfortable!
Upon arrival the gentleman working the front desk was very welcoming and polite. We asked him several questions about nearby activities / restaurants and he seemed happy to give us the information. The room was very clean. The only down side of the room was the size of the bathroom. You literally have to lean into the shower to shut the door. Not so much of an issue to stop us from staying there on our next trip to Charlottesville. We will definitely stay there again!
The staff were nice, the bed was comfortable but the room, sidewalks could have been cleaner. There were a lot of food crumbs on the chair and debris outside. Otherwise a convenient location for our needs.
